CSA Program Details
What Is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a collaborative relation between local farmers and community members committed to supporting sustainable agriculture. In a CSA, members invest in the farm at the beginning of the season, sharing both the risks and rewards of food production. This model means that while members enjoy a steady supply of fresh, local produce, they also help shoulder the challenges farmers face due to unpredictable weather and other natural events. By participating in a CSA, the members and the farmer work together, fostering mutual trust and resilience in the face of farming uncertainties.
Why Join the East Oaks Farm CSA Program?
The 2026 CSA season at East Oaks Farm offers a unique opportunity to connect with your food and your farmer. Led by Ali Mohadjer, an award-winning grower recognized for his dedication to sustainable agriculture. East Oaks Farm brings decades of passion and expertise to every harvest. Ali’s commitment to non-GMO practices and traditional farming is rooted in a lifetime of hands-on experience, from Sharpsburg and Poolesville.
At East Oaks Farm, transparency and community involvement are fundamental principles. CSA members are welcomed to tour the historic farm at the beginning of the season, meet the animals that contribute to healthy soil, and observe the sustainable methods that result in outstanding produce. Joining the CSA provides your family with fresh, high-quality vegetables while also supporting a mission to benefit the local community and environment.

How Weekly Shares Work
Each week, we post the list of potential harvestable items on our website and email it to our CSA members. We ask everyone to please review it and let us know which items they are not interested in, so we can limit the amount of harvest. There is no limit on the number of items except for what we can place in a basket.
Access to Third-Party Produce and Products
Occasionally, we offer additional produce and products, such as honey from partner farmers with whom we have cooperative relationships. While these items are not included in your CSA share, they are available for purchase at exclusive member-only prices—further expanding your access to local, high-quality foods.
Convenient Pickup Locations
-
Farm’s Market: Pick up your share directly from the heart of the farm during the operating hours.
-
The Gate Cabinet: A convenient option for members on the go and those who are unable to pick up during the market hours.
